3 Predictions for 2026 'Outer Banks' Season 5
Netflix has confirmed that the final season of the hit series Outer Banks will air in 2026, marking the last chapter in the Pogues' adventures- one that follows the heartbreaking loss of their beloved friend, JJ, at the end of Season 4. Filming for the fifth and final season began this summer, though Netflix has yet to announce an exact premiere date.
What we do know is that creators Josh & Jonas Pate, and Sharon Burke, are gearing up to deliver one final wild ride. The Pogues will continue their hunt for the Blue Crown Treasure while navigating life without JJ. Meanwhile, John B and Sarah face a brand-new challenge of their own after Sarah's Season 4 pregnancy reveal. 1. Is JJ actually dead or will he possibly come back at the end of the series in a mysterious way?
We think it's possible that his death may have been staged and he will return to the Outer Banks at the most surprising time. Or, in an even crazier turn of events, when the Blue Crown Treasure is found, it's magical powers will bring him back to life. Anything is possible with buried treasure you know.
2. What will happen to Chandler Groff (JJ's biological father), when the Pogues find him and the Blue Crown Treasure he escaped with at the end of Season 4?
We predict that JJ's adoptive father, Luke, will be a key player to claiming justice for JJ and will help the Pogues reclaim the Blue Crown Treasure from Groff. We know that Luke was never the best father to JJ, and this could be his last act of redemption.
3. How will Rafe fit into the picture and will he finally join the Pogues?
We know that the end of Season 4, Rafe defended his sister, Sarah, and felt the loss of JJ along with the others. But, after all, he is still Rafe. We predict he will be a top contender to secure the Blue Crown Treasure, but in the end will join forces with the Pogues at the final face off. The possibility of him becoming a Pogue is pretty slim though, we predict he will remain a Kook forever. And remember the history between Rafe and Kiara? We think they might get a little closer this season, too.
Whatever lies in store, Season 5 is expected to be the most ambitious yet- the grand finale that ties together everything the creators have been building since the beginning. We'll have to wait just a little longer to see how it all ends, but in the meantime, all four thrilling seasons are streaming now on Netflix.
